How much does drug and alcohol treatment cost?
It depends on the type of addiction treatment and services you need. We offer a range of services from the less expensive outpatient rehab (which is for people with less serious addiction issues) to what we call primary residential treatment where people live with us for 30 days or longer to get the help they need. The basic cost for primary residential rehab is $3500 for a 30-day stay. Additional months are $2750 per month. Additional services such as counseling for other issues, prescriptions, etc. are charged separately when needed.
Does Costa Rica Recovery take insurance for drug and alcohol treatment?
Yes. We utilize a pre certification service called MD Abroad to help you know what coverage you have at our facility. If your provider wishes particular reports we have experience in preparing them. We have received payment from the United States Veterans Administration (VA), Blue Cross – Blue Shield and the Alaska Teamsters Union. We work hard with insurance companies on behalf of our clients in treatment to find the best payment solutions for them. Our total costs are notably less than the deductible at other facilities.
What kind of rehab programs do you offer?
Costa Rica Recovery offers a wide array of alcohol and drug treatment programs. Our Mental Health professionals are skilled at helping patients with co-occurring disorders (issues in addition to addiction, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD etc) – a service that sets Costa Rica Recovery apart from other alcohol and drug treatment centers in Costa Rica. Another service exclusive to Costa Rica Recovery patients is our continuing care program that provides 12 months of addiction recovery support via personal Recovery Coaches. Family members play an important role in the addiction recovery process and are encouraged to attend our Family Program. A program unique to Costa Rica Recovery is our Visitors in Recovery program where we have persons with established recovery staying in residence with people in treatment. Whether your interest is simply to stay a day or two and then move on to other areas of Costa Rica or if stay in San Jose for a longer period, this close contact with those new to recovery enhances and reinforces your recovery which is also a gift to those new to twelve step fellowships.
Do you treat anything besides drug and alcohol addiction?
Many people who come to Costa Rica Recovery seeking treatment for their drug or alcohol addiction may also struggle with mental health issues, such as depression, grief, anxiety, or post-traumatic stress disorder. This combination of addiction along with a mental health issue is called “co-occurring disorders” and, in fact, is quite common. Costa Rica Recovery has medical staff, psychologists, psychiatrists, and counselors on site who are skilled at addressing the complexity of issues around co-occurring disorders alongside the addiction to drugs and alcohol.
